If you have outdated pages on your website, you might think removing them from your menu is enough. However, search engines can still index and display them in search results, meaning visitors could stumble across old prices, discontinued services or content you no longer want to show.

To prevent this, you need to hide old website pages from Google properly. This is a quick and simple fix that can save you from confusion, lost sales or unnecessary enquiries about services you no longer provide.

Why You Should Hide Old Pages from Search Engines

Even if a page is no longer visible on your website’s navigation, it does not mean it has disappeared. Search engines may still show it in results for weeks or even months. This can cause problems such as:

  • Clients seeing old pricing and expecting outdated rates

  • Enquiries about services you no longer offer

  • Visitors finding incorrect or irrelevant information

  • Reduced credibility if customers come across conflicting details

Hiding these pages ensures that only your most up-to-date content appears in search results, keeping your website professional and accurate.
